This is my first official blog post. I've finally arrived. Just wanted to update you on our initial itinerary. Our team will depart from Springfield on Sunday, January 11 at 10:ooam. We will link up with the rest of the team from St. Louis in Atlanta and then arrive in Dakar, Senegal on Monday morning. No rest for the weary...we will begin an 8-9 hour trek south, crossing Gambia and re-entering Senegal toward our base in Sedhiou Monday afternoon.

Please be praying for us this week as we make final preparations. Much to pack. Much to pray over.

I'll try to update with pics as often as possible, but the region we will be serving in doesn't provide a lot of easy internet access. You can also follow the updates on Calvary's mission blog at calvaryneosho.blogspot.com

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING.

In HIM,
Ryan

Does lil' sissy get to be your first-ever response post in blogosphere? Oh, that is exciting! Paul and I will be living vicariously through you for the next few weeks. Be extremely careful, and don't do anything I wouldn't do (which, as you know, isn't much). Sounds like you've got a great team put together, though. I can imagine the many fun stories that will start with something like, "A minister, a doctor, and a dentist all get on a van in western Africa..." Believe it or not, I'll be praying for you (and my sissy and two little cherubs who have to get along without you for a bit).
