We arrived safely in Dakar at about 5am local time and made it through customs with no issues. All of our luggage came with us!!! Thank you Lord!
Our interpreters and drivers met us and after a quick stop at the Qakam Baptist Center in Dakar to pick up some more medical supplies, we set out for our journey to Sedhiou.

Before we ever got out of Dakar, one of the cars developed an axle problem. After trying to get it fixed (to no avail) we crammed everyone in to the remaining two vehicles. Because of the delay, we decided not to attempt the ferry so late and risk being on the roads at night. It is no 4pm and we have stopped at a little community called Kaolack (we're all calling it Cowlick)! There is a sweet little hotel here and we are all getting a room and settling in. Dr. Ray is already asleep and I will be once I finish this entry! We've been up now almost 29 hours.

Satan is obviously at work trying to thwart God's plans by delaying us. But God is faithful. We are going to get a good night of rest, load up at 5:30am and head out for Sedhiou.

Paula - tell my babies I love them. Tell their mama too!

Hello Ryan, Sarah, Gary and Flat Emily!

We are checking the blog daily and we even have my classroom in Pineville tracking and checking on Flat Emily!

We are praying that everyone is safe and that God has great things in store for you.

Paula, Hayes and Addison are doing well. I've been calling and checking on them.

It's very cold here a high of maybe 5 degrees on Wednesday so soak up some of that warm weather.

Keeping you in our thoughts and in our prayers.

You seem to have quite a sense of optimism despite the travel challenges and sleep deprivation. I'm proud of you, bro.

Gee if you get this twice I've never blogged before! I'm ready to hear more!! Praise God for your safe travel there even with the bumps in the road - ha - no pun intended! As I'm typing I hope you are all getting the rest you need after what I'm sure was a busy & eventful day. I pray God will renew you for a new day of sharing of his love. Tell all hello and tell Sara I hope she is journaling this amazing journey! Praying for you!
